Atlanta Fertility Specialist Dr. Lisa Hasty Named “Top Doctor” by Atlanta Magazine

Fertility specialist Dr. Lisa Hasty of Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM) has been chosen as a “Top Doctor 2016” by Atlanta Magazine. In Atlanta Magazine's annual Top Doctors issue, Dr. Hasty has been recognized for the seventh year in a row by hundreds of her esteemed colleagues and peers in the metro area as one of the most respected doctors in Reproductive Endocrinology.

“I’m honored to be recognized in this year’s Atlanta Magazine ‘Top Doctors’ list and I congratulate the other esteemed physicians on the list,’ says Dr. Hasty. “Everyone at ACRM is very passionate about what we do here to help build families and I am grateful to be a part of it.”

Dr. Hasty is a founding partner of ACRM and is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.  She received her undergraduate degree from Davidson College and earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine.  In 1985, Dr. Hasty accepted a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.  Following her residency in 1989, Dr. Hasty remained with the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Hasty is an elected Fellow of the America College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Atlanta OB/GYN Society, and the Georgia ObGyn Society.

Lisa Hasty Fertility Specialist Review"Dr. Hasty, thank you for making our dreams come true. Throughout our journey you were confident, strong and very kind-hearted,” said former infertility patients J. Abner and family. “Your presence was welcoming and we knew right away that you were the ‘one’. It comes to me as no surprise that you are the best doctor in Atlanta, to us you are the best in the world. Thank you for our little boy, Lennox.”

This was an exciting year for ACRM as they partnered with the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine Network (CCRM) in late 2015. This partnership provides patients in the southeaster U.S. with continued access to ACRM’s outstanding patient care and outcomes, as well as leading fertility technology developed by the CCRM Network. In addition, Dr. Hasty marked eighteen years since the opening of ACRM with a Baby Party in April 2016 that brought together past patients, physicians and nurses, and ACRM staff.

Atlanta Magazine partners with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a healthcare research firm based in New York, to complete the Top Doctor survey. The mission of Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. is to help consumers find the best healthcare. A randomly selected sample of board-certified physicians and key medical leaders were asked to identify exceptional doctors in their respective specialties. As a result of the hundreds of medical professionals surveyed, Atlanta's Top Doctor's are named. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be selected and profiled as Castle Connolly "Top Doctors".

ACRM Research Finds Fewer Multiples with Letrozole, More Pregnancies with Clomid

Clomid Letrozole ResearchDr. Jim Toner, director of third party reproduction here at Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM), recently shared ACRM's findings regarding a study of the fertility medications, Letrozole and Clomid.

Fertility Medications Study

Researchers at the Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM) recently evaluated data from 16,001 Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) cycles from 2010-2013 that used the oral medications Letrozole or Clomid. The data showed that Letrozole was associated with lower multiple pregnancy rates for women of all age groups. In women under 38, pregnancy rates were higher with Clomid than Letrozole, but there were also higher multiple pregnancy rates. In women over the age of 40, pregnancy rates were higher with Letrozole.

Dr. Kathryn Calhoun of Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine Pounds the Pavement for Peter

The Sixth Annual Pound the Pavement for Peter 5K raised over $120,000 to support children and families affected by debilitating diseases.

Atlanta, GA - The Sixth Annual Pound the Pavement for Peter took place Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Capital City Club Brookhaven. The event includes a Family Fun Run that was started in 2009 in honor of the life of Peter Hopkins, who suffered from a peroxisomal biogenesis disorder (PBD), a rare genetic condition that affects all major systems of the body. Peter passed away just before his fourth birthday, but during his short life he touched the lives of every person he came in contact with and is remembered for his joy and smile.

Dr. Kathryn Calhoun, a board certified reproductive endocrinologist at Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine, was one of those people who was touched by Peter. Peter’s mother, Anne Park Hopkins, is a longtime friend of Dr. Calhoun. For the past three years, Dr. Calhoun has served on the race planning committee.

This event is important to me as a parent and a medical professional,” said Dr. Calhoun, “but it is particularly poignant because the race continues to honor my friends and their son, Peter Hopkins, who was afflicted with a peroxisomal disorder.”

The event raised over $120,000 this year, which is a record for the event. These funds will benefit three organizations: The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders, The Adaptive Learning Center, and The Pediatric Palliative Care Center at CHOA. All organizations serve to help realize the potential and hope for families affected by PBD.

Overall, the event was a success to raise awareness and funds to help families and children with disabilities and debilitating diseases. Dr. Calhoun and ACRM are proud to support this wonderful event in honor of Peter Hopkins and all families affected by debilitating diseases.
